I have some technical questions about the dweb site, where can I discuss it? For example, I run IPFS locally and would like to use it to host/pin archive content, would the IPFS Companion browser extension be enough to support using local IPFS?

Hi, I'm the technical lead on dweb.archive.org. In general the best place for dweb-archive questions is on the issues page on github.com (github.com/internetarchive/dweb-archive/issues) but I can have a go here ....

I'm currently working on a tool to make it easier to pin content from specific items or collections, but its not ready yet and might be a while as it has to perform other tasks as well. I don't use IPFS Companion, but it should be able to pin content if it can see the IPFS Hash, but that hash isn't visible on the dweb pages.

The right solution for you will depend on what you are trying to achieve. Feel free to respond here, or email me at mitra@archive.org

So the dweb pages aren't just using some ipfs proxy that i can rewrite to local ipfs? and they don't show the hashes?

Correct, the IPFS files are pushed to ipfs on our local peer, which the UI connects to, and the hashes are available on the metadata API which is how the UI knows where to look for the.
